Description

Pultruded carbon tubes,

also known as graphite tubes or unidirectional carbon fiber tubes, are used in many industrial applications and aerospace designs, as well as in hobbies such as RC airplanes and RC sailboats, kite spars in dual line kites and single line kites, and just about anywhere else you want a stiff, strong tube.  Pultruded carbon tubes are a strong, lightweight replacement for steel and aluminum in many applications.

Inner diameter and outer diameter can fluctuate .005" plus or minus from sizes indicated. Our carbon fiber tubing is made in the USA.

Use only external ferrules to connect pultruded carbon tubes.

Note:  Any tube or rod that exceeds 100cm (39 inches) will be subject to an additional $18 over-sized shipping fee to be added to the base shipping amount. Contact us for additional information. We can custom cut to your desired length $0.50 per cut.

Cutting Carbon

To cut carbon tubes, use a Dremel motor with an abrasive cutting wheel for the cleanest cut possible. You can also use a fine-toothed hacksaw. Be sure the carbon tube is held securely in place, and use a gentle touch so as not to crush the carbon tube. Tape around the area to be cut to prevent splintering or separation of fibers and cut through the tape or between the tape wrappings. Wear eye protection and a dust mask for safety.
